Obituary of Mozell Murry

Mozell Murry, 90, of DeKalb, Texas, departed this life Sunday, January 13, 2013 at a local hospital. Mrs. Murry was born the third of four children to Frank and Josie Taylor-Bridges on August 9, 1922. She attended Beaver Dam School, and at the age of thirteen she united with Beaver Dam Baptist Church. She married Charles C. Lewis, and to this union seven children were born--five of whom preceded her death (three as infants). She later married Clifton Murry, Sr., and to this union five children were born--two of whom preceded her in death. Her parents, husbands, and seven of her twelve children preceded her in death. Left to cherish her memory are one son, Rev. Clifton Murray, Jr. (Sharon) of Texarkana, Texas; four daughters, Minnie R. Royster of DeKalb, Texas, Bettye J. Henry of DeKalb, Texas, Mary J. Cooper of DeKalb, Texas, and Verdell Gray (Marvin) of DeKalb, Texas; one great-grandson whom she raised, Aquan Sewell (Tanya) of Pueblo, Colorado; two sisters, Nora N. Hardwick (Worris, Sr.) of DeKalb, Texas and Ceola Nelson (James) of Foreman, Arkansas, one brother, James C. Bridges (Doris) of Lancaster, Texas; 24 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren, 47 great-great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
