Charlie Johnson, 65, of Texarkana, Arkansas, departed this life, Sunday, October 13, 2013, in a local hospital. Charlie Tilmon Johnson was born on October 28, 1947 in Texarkana, Arkansas to the parentage of Maggie and Dossie Johnson Sr. He was a member of Bright Star Baptist Church and served on the Deacon Board. Charlie was an Army Veteran and served as an MP. He was a former employee of the Texarkana Country Club and Co-owner of K&J Cleaning. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Benetha S. Johnson of Texarkana, Arkansas; two sons: Michael Scott of Ogden, Arkansas and Chazz Thorton of Texarkana, TX; three daughters: Juanita Johnson of Texarkana, AR, Jennifer Johnson of Texarkana, Arkansas, and Abresha Johnson of Texarkana, Arkansas; three brothers: Dossie Johnson Sr. (Alice) of Ft. Mitchell, Alabama, Alex Johnson (Nakaydria) of Dallas, Texas, and Adam Johnson of Arlington, Texas; four sisters: Erma J. Curry (Sam) of Marshall, Texas, Veliya Johnson of Marshall, Texas, Ineeca Moore (James) of Texarkana, Texas, and Vyctoria Johnson of Arlington, Texas; stepmother: Brenda Martin of Marshall, Texas; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
