Obituary of Lucretia Rochelle

Lucretia Rochelle, 93, of Texarkana, Texas, departed this life on Sunday, December 18, 2011, in Texarkana, Texas. Mrs. Rochelle was affiliated with the New Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she was the Mission President, a Sunday School Teacher, and a Choir Member. She was also in the 4-H Club, an Eastern Star and a Den Mother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Amelia Callahan; four brothers, Levi Callahan, Cleophaus Callahan, Nathan Callahan, and Henry Callahan; and one grandson, Bradfield "B.J." Casteel, Jr. To cherish her memory, she leaves three sons, Arthur R. Berkins (Celinda) of Texarkana, Texas, Rev. Joe N. Rochelle (Barbara) of Texarkana, Texas, and Johnie Rochelle of Inster, Michigan; four daughters, Elphenia Lewis of Texarkana, Texas, Bettye Rochelle Holt of Texarkana, Texas, Lizzie Casteel of Houston, Texas, and Ida Lou Rochelle Ledet (Jefferson) of Humble, Texas; and one sister, Allie V. Earl of Redlands, California; sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. The visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, December 22, 2011 at Richardson Hill Funeral Home, and the funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 23, 2011at New Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas.
