James Garner, 66, of Marietta, Texas, departed tthis life Sunday, March 29, 2015 at a local nursing home.
Mr. Garner was born Aug. 22, 1948, in Bryans Mill, Texas. He was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation and a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Douglassville, Texas. He was preceded in death by one son, Gerrand Garner.
Survivors include three daughters, ShaRhonda Byrd and Latonia Garner of Atlanta, Texas, and Niakesha Nelson of El Dorado, Ark.; five sisters, Faye Carter and Linda Casteel of Marietta, Texas, Velma McGary of Douglassville, Texas, and Normal Allen and Georgia Johnson of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Enon First Baptist Church with the Revs. Johnathan Stanmore and Ricky Green officiating. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Douglassville, under direction of Richardson Hill Funeral Home.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
