Obituary of Clinton Sockwell

Clinton Sockwell, 80, of Texarkana, Arkansas, departed this life Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Wadley Regional Medical Center. He attended the Howard county Training School in Tollette, Arkansas. He was a member of the Park Avenue Baptist Church in Texarkana, Arkansas, where Rev. Londell Williams is the pastor. Before he began his career in Dallas, Texas, he had served in the military. He retired from Miller County. He was preceded in death by his father, Cleo Sockwell and his stepfather, Obie Jordan.. To cherish his memory, he leaves his wife, Annie M. Sockwell of Texarkana, Arkansas; one son, Clinton Sockwell, Jr. of San Francisco, California; daughters, Linda Sockwell Tucker (Ruben) of Houston, Texas, Clintonia R. Sockwell Smith (Charles) of Fairfield, California, Millie Hill of Dallas, Texas, Fannie B. Lennox of Hot Springs, Arkansas; mother, Lucille Jordan of Tollette, Arkansas; one brother, Clark Jordan; one uncle, Gilbert Thomas, Sr., two special cousins, Gilbert Thomas, Jr., and Jackie Thomas--both of Tollette, Arkansas sixteen great grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. The wake will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at Richardson Hill Funeral Home. The graveside service will be at Crofton Cemetery in Tollette, Arkansas at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 30 , 2011. The family will receive visitors immediately following the graveside service at the F.T. Jeans Memorial C.M.E. Church in Tollette, Arkansas.
