Obituary of Selma Franklin
Please share a memory of Selma to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Selma Franklin, 74, of Texarkana, Texas, departed this life July 23, 2011, at a local hospital.
Mrs. Franklin was a graduate of Washington High School and a retiree from Day & Zimmerman after twenty-seven years of employment. She was a certified cosmetologist and a member of Zeta Amicae Sorority. She was a member of Charity Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess, Announcing Clerk, and a Choir Member. She was a great listener and an encouraging, loving lady. She adored her family and friends and, as a great cook, exemplified that love through her deliciously prepared food.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall Utsey and Clara L. White and her brother, Robert D. Utsey, Sr.
To honor and cherish her memories, she leaves her devoted husband of fifty-five years, Roy L. Franklin, Sr.; one son, Roy E. Franklin; two grandchildren, Heather Franklin and Hillary Franklin; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
