Marvin Lee Franklin was born on Thursday, March 23, 1939 to the parentage of Andrew and Bennie Franklin in Hooks, Texas (Red Bank Community). He was affiliated with the Red Bank Baptist Church and was employed by the City of Hooks and Texana Tank Car Manufacturing, LTD.

Marvin departed his earthly life on Friday, February 26, 2021 in Texarkana, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Bennie Franklin; wife, Doris Castell Franklin; significant other, Jessie M. Young; grandson, Michael Jones; and brother, Roger Franklin.

Those left to cherish his memory include daughters, Kimberly Walker and her husband, LaMarcus (Wake Village, TX), Shirley Jones and her husband, Nathaniel (California) and Tawana Baker (Texarkana, TX); sister, Quincey Franklin King (Hooks, TX); six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; along with a niece, three nephews, a host of great-nieces and great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
